Data centre audits are a key component of SCTi’s service offering. Conducting an audit includes several different measurements and deliverables which allow SCTi to create better, more customized solutions.
Inspection to identify inefficient systems, configuration or operational practices. Inspection activities include:
√ UPS capacity and redundancy
√ Load level of switch gear and PDU’s
√ Chiller and CRAC parameters
– Report on inspected areas
√ Establish benchmark of energy consumption
√ Gather usage information on power, cooling and lighting
√ Measure IT energy loads
√ Measure data centre total power input
√ Calculate PUE and compare to other data centres
– Benchmark reference point
Based on data centre attributes and benchmark create a business case with projected ROI to indicate value of improvements and estimated payback period.
– Report detailing recommended action, cost for each action and estimated payback period based on projected energy savings
Create model of data centre in current state and run a Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis to validate existing conditions and recommended changes.
– Provide animated models, detailed spreadsheet of temperature profiles for each rack, CRAC efficiency and load factors and CRAC failure analysis
